After spending approximately 16 months in oak barrels, the time has come to bottle our 2009 red wines. These wines were made with grapes harvested in September of 2009.
We are in the process of satisfying all of our supply needs, which include bottles and cork. Our estimates indicate that approximately 730 cases of 2009 red wine will be produced.
The three varieties of red wine we currently offer, which are Cabernet Sauvignon, Meritage and Syrah, will continue to be proudly represented in our 2009 vintage.
If you would like to know more about the wine we currently offer, please visit our website: www.vinedosdonjuan.com. Once there, click on the ‘Our Wine’ tab to view details such as wine composition and tasting notes, in addition to a listing of all the restaurants and retailers where our product is available.
Once wine is bottled, it is recommended that it be left to rest for at least 4 months. This allows all of the aromas and flavors it acquired during its aging in oak barrels to consolidate and become a part of its essence. After this process takes place, the wine is finally ready to be released to the market.
This projects our 2009 red wine, which we will be bottling in the next few weeks, to be available by April or May of 2011.
Please do not hesitate to send us your questions or comments, as it is our pleasure to read them and respond.
All the best, Viñedos Don Juan
