A little more than a month ago, we mentioned that Viñedos Don Juan was about to start bottling its 2009 red wines.
Well…after a minor shipping delay, we wanted to let you know that our 2009 red wines are now bottled and resting, and they will be available in about 4 months.
The bottling process was finished last Wednesday, January 12th.
Our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2009 Syrah have a monovarietal composition. In other words, the wines are composed entirely of grapes of the same name.
The case of our 2009 Meritage is a little different. This wine is created by mixing three grape varieties, which are Cabernet Sauvignon (6%), Merlot (47%), and Syrah (47%).
Viñedos Don Juan has produced its Meritage twice, and on both occasions the same three grape varieties have been used. The proportions have varied slightly due to production levels and annual vinification plans, which are formulated by our enologist, José Ochoa Calderón.
As always, we are here to clarify any questions you might have, either about our winery or about wine in general.
All the best, Viñedos Don Juan
